Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Overview:
A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works directly with clients to implement behavior intervention plans, designed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or other behavior professionals. The RBT’s primary responsibility is to provide therapy and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Key Responsibilities:

Implement individualized behavior intervention plans created by BCBAs to improve socially significant behaviors.

Collaborate with clients in both one-on-one and group settings to teach new skills, address challenging behaviors, and foster independence.

Collect and record data on client behavior during therapy sessions to track progress.

Follow ethical guidelines set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Communicate supervisors (BCBAs), team members, and family members regarding client progress and any challenges encountered.

Participate in supervision sessions and regular supervision sessions with a BCBA to review progress and refine techniques.

Use positive reinforcement techniques and other evidence-based behavior intervention techniques to support client goals.

Maintain safe and supportive environments for clients according to HIPAA and other confidentiality standards.
Qualifications:

High school diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred in psychology, education, or a related field).

Current RBT certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or the ability to obtain certification within a specific time frame

Experience with developmental disabilities or in behavior therapy (preferred).

Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.

Patience and empathy in challenging situations.

Ability to follow instructions and adapt to individualized client needs.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and accept constructive feedback.

Working Conditions:

Various settings: homes, schools, clinics, community environments.

Physical requirements include the ability to engage in activities with clients, including sitting, standing, and occasionally lifting or moving individuals as necessary.

May require flexible hours, including evenings or weekends.
Salary:
Starting at $33 an hour, based on experience and location.
Job Type:
Full-time or part-time.

Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or supervising behavior analyst.
